This year's festive fruit drink: apple brandy. We got a big bag of apples from Hazel's parents last weekend, and I can't be
arsed making the
jelly again (it never
quite set properly anyway). So I thought:
Calvados is quite nice, so let's try something vaguely similar. I assume that something akin to the
sloe gin method will probably work, so here's the method, in the style of one of Gordon Ramsay's recipe interludes:
BRANDY.BUY.IN A SHOP.
APPLES.CHOP.
BRANDY.ADD.TO A JAR.OF APPLES.
APPLE BRANDY.
DONE.
GOT IT?
YES?
YES?
FUCK ME.

Does one tip the nasty apples out before drinking it?
Erm, yes, that's the idea. Same drill as the sloe gin. No idea how long to leave it for - I assume a couple of months will probably do. Didn't really have any idea how much sugar to add, either, so I guessed. All that uncertainty may mean it'll turn out undrinkable; we'll see. If so I can probably run my car on it or something.
