tragic news

Two bits of tragic news, actually:

Firstly, the demise of the splendid independent music retailer Fopp. Where am I going to buy obscure CDs for a fiver now? Well, Amazon, I suppose, but it's just not the same as a real shop.

Secondly, Ben Goldacre's Bad Science website seems to be a victim of its own success. Unless some altruistic geeky type can offer some help and advice for free, that is. Otherwise where am I going to go to laugh at snake-oil salesmen, creationists and people who don't understand statistical analysis? The fools.

Oh no! Dr. Bent Goldmember is unavailable?
Shammmme.

Now, Ariel Telly on the other hand - one of the funniest web sites I've ever visited, if that went daaaan, I'd be a little upset.

Any relation of Big Dave's by the way?

Regarding Bad Science though - maybe Goldacre might like to consider praying for the lord's salvation, to resurrect his website?
Failing that, a little powered white bat's blood, rubbed into his 32k "ram pack" might do the trick?
Or if push comes to shove, he could always nip down to H&B for some St.Johns Wort capsules (or naturally inspired sod of course), to alleviate his impending depression.

Oh god... stop it. stop it!

Better still, homeopathic St. John's Wort. Put some herby stuff in a beaker of water, take it out again, dilute with a million gallons of water and use to treat stuff. Cos the water remembers what was in it. Though not all the sewage that got filtered out of it, hopefully. It's a laugh, innit?
